A Legacy of Impact, A Future of Recovery
Help Give Someone a Chance
For thousands of our neighbors in Union County who are waiting for mental health care, hope can’t wait.
That’s why we are transforming our long-standing home at 567 Morris Avenue in Elizabeth into a modern, welcoming Center for Integrated Outpatient Services, a place where anyone can walk in and find timely, compassionate, life-changing care.
We believe no one should have to wait to feel better, safer, or supported.
You can be the difference between someone waiting months for care or receiving rapid access to life-saving services.

Why Your Support Matters
Union County is experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Too many of our neighbors, especially youth, working families, and communities of color, are waiting months for mental health or addiction care. In that time, lives unravel. Instead of receiving help, people end up in emergency rooms, jails, or on the streets without the support they need, placing a heavy burden on our entire community.
Here’s the reality our community faces:
Just one mental health provider for every 449 people (double the national rate)
8–12 week average wait time for care
30–50% of persons served face both mental health and substance use challenges
13% of residents are uninsured
Black, Hispanic, and LGBTQ+ residents face additional barriers to care
This is unacceptable. But together, we can change it.
Bridgeway is committed to reshaping the behavioral health system in Union County.
Your support will help to create a system where people receive the help they need, when they need it most.
Our Vision: A New Center for Healing for All
With your support, we’re building a centralized, inclusive hub for mental health services offering same‑day care, culturally competent support, and coordinated treatment under one roof. Providing rapid care access, outpatient therapy, case management, and help for co‑occurring conditions, this Center will become a lifeline for thousands of residents each year.
Bridgeway’s newly renovated, 8,000‑square‑foot facility in Union County will be a welcoming, accessible place for urgent, life‑saving behavioral health services. Designed with both comfort and functionality in mind, the Center will include:
Separate waiting areas for youth and adults
8 individual counseling rooms and 8 group therapy rooms
2 exam rooms and 2 medication rooms
Convenient location near Union Train Station and Kean University
Your support will help create a safe, accessible space where people can receive:
-
Rapid Access for Behavioral Health
Walk-in, 7 days a week, with access to clinicians within 24 hours and prescribers within 24-48 hours.
-
Outpatient Behavioral Health Services
Individual, family, and group therapy for youth (6+) and adults.
-
Case Management
Connecting clients to housing, education, employment, legal support, and more.
-
Integrated Care
Addressing mental health challenges and physical health in tandem.
Every day that passes, someone in our community goes without the care they desperately need.
Your generosity can change that. With your support, we can open the doors to life-saving services and build a space rooted in dignity, inclusion, and recovery, ensuring no one is left waiting for support. Together, we can build a place where no one has to wait to feel better, safer, or supported.
Halfway to Meeting Our Community’s Needs
Thanks to the visionary generosity of our Founding Champions, $1 million of our $2 million goal has been secured. The remaining $1 million is critical to providing life‑saving care for those who cannot afford to wait.
Every gift brings hope to a young person fighting depression, a veteran coping with trauma, or a family overwhelmed by the weight of untreated mental illness. With your support, we can bring them closer to the hope, healing, and support they desperately want and need.
